Mission, Vision, Value

Mission

To gain skills and abilities to become a functioning member of the PR community.  To use my experiences to learn and grow as an individual.

Vision

To be able to sustain myself and any future family I might have.  To above all have a happy life.

Value

To preserve happiness and improve quality of life for myself and others.

Anything PR

A very recent story  in PR is Austin Texas based firm StrangeFruit PR.  The hospitality focused firm recently came under fire for the companies name.  In typical PR disaster fashion, the ladies responsible for the company failed to do their research.  The name Strange Fruit is actually the name of a song from 30's jazz musician Billie Holiday protesting lynchings.  After a ton of backlash, including arguing with people on twitter, the company shut down all social networking.  As stated, research is key before doing anything.

Great CSR Report

When I searched for CSR reports I instantly found my idea.  Telus has a CSR report that matches their colorful advertising that people have loved for so long.  It features the animals from the commercials and colorful diagrams and pictures to a very clear picture of what the company is all about that's very user friendly.

Great Brand Journalisim

A really good example of brand journalism is Red Bull and the gravity jump preformed by Felix Baumgartner.  When the Australian skydiver made his now famous 2012 jump, Red Bull had it's branding all over the place throughout the event on social media their own website, TV and more.  This got Red Bulls name out in full force for something that very easily became popular.

Online Media Kit

I went through several examples of media kits online.  After noting that several of them were very hard to find on certain websites, I eventually settled on the good, but simple model used by the Toronto Star on their website.  Unlike several of the models I looked at this was easy to find right away.  It has colour in it and has the information.  Above all I was swayed by the aforementioned fact that the Toronto Star made theirs easy to find and accessible.
